PARADIGM PILGRIMS

How to use the Nautilus

Each page of the Nautilus contains the explanation of a key principle. These principles are followed by paradigmatic choice points. I have used an arrow to show movement from the old paradigmatic choice to the new.

Old paradigmatic choice > New paradigmatic choice

The choice point is followed by a non-exhaustive reference list. These lists are meant to get you started on your learning journey. They are by no means a full list or even a list of the most prominent works in the field (although I have tried to do that where possible). Some of the ideas in the references will contradict each other. This was done purposefully. Critical thinking...thinking that applies your own experience to the words on the page...is a key element of the emerging paradigm.

The Nautilus represents my attempt to impose a temporally linear structure on a non-linear process for pedagogical purposes. In reality, each principle is very much related to the others and many of the readings will cross-over my fictional boundaries.

Vision for future?: organizational change throughout society’s institutions - public and private sector, education, non-profits etc. that lead to relationship changes among people and communities.
